AG Garland told an audience of churchgoers on Sunday that voter ID laws are “burdensome” and “unnecessary.” Never mind that the vast majority of voters believe they are important, according to polls, especially with the flood of illegal immigrants into the country. What the citizens want has never mattered to Democrats. They want to run the country, not let Americans decide their leaders.
“One of the first things I did when I came into office was to double the size of the voting section of the civil rights division. That is why we are challenging efforts by states and jurisdictions to implement discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to the ballot, including those related to mail-in voting, the use of drop boxes, and voter ID requirements.”
“Those measures include practices and procedures that make voting more difficult; redistricting maps that disadvantage minorities; and changes in voting administration that diminish the authority of locally elected or nonpartisan election administrators. In addition to the idea to remove any law that identifies a voter, Democrats plan to introduce legislation to remove Trump from the ballot permanently. Of course that plan will fail, but they will try it regardless. Because they absolutely can’t stand the thought of Donald J. Trump as President again. Jamie Raskin, a Democrat with serious TDS, wants to get Trump off the ballot any way he can.
According to the Axios report, Raskin referenced legislation he introduced in 2022 with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. that would allow the Justice Department to sue to keep candidates off the ballot under the 14th Amendment.
“We are going to revise it in light of the Supreme Court’s decision,” Raskin told the outlet. He suggested that the bill would be paired with a resolution declaring Jan. 6 an “insurrection” and that those involved “engaged in insurrection.” Fox
Speaker Johnson (R) called on Democrats to “get a grip.” That’s a great thought, but it will never happen. Democrats want to keep their power and increase it, not be normal people who do what their constituents want.
