We have a traitor on the U.S. Supreme Court, folks. That is all we can say after seeing his year-end report in which he agrees that the U.S.A. Needs to eliminate the First Amendment.
Of course, this creep didn’t state it straight out., He couched it in terms of combating “misinformation.” But there is no way around it that he supports our government taking away our freedoms to satisfy his desire to eliminate speech he doesn’t like.
According to The Federalist:
Roberts took to his recently released annual review to elucidate what he sees as the key threats to the independence of his fellow justices, and thereby the rule of law itself. He distinguishes between “strong and passionate reactions” to and “informed criticism” of the court on the one hand, and independence-threatening “illegitimate activity” on the other.
Among the four types of activities that the chief justice identifies as illegitimate is “disinformation,” writing that disinformation includes “distortion of the factual or legal basis for a ruling,” which “can undermine confidence in the court system.” He laments that the court is ill-suited to “combat this problem” since judges are generally silent on their rulings.
“To make matters worse,” the chief justice adds, citing concerns laid out in his 2019 year-end report, “the modern disinformation problem is magnified by social media, which provides a ready channel to ‘instantly spread rumor and false information.’” Then, he endorsed “civic ed
Roberts went on to say, “[W]e must as a nation publicize the risks and take all appropriate measures to stop them,” the chief justice concludes.”
This is no less than Roberts’ admission that he wants the U.S. government to allow certain speech and to eliminate the rest.
This is Roberts supporting mass censorship.
It cannot mean anything else.
This is the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court… supporting mass censorship at the hands of our government.
