We can now say that President Donald Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday was a big hit as the data now says he drew 36.6 million viewers on Tuesday.
That is 13 percent higher than the 32.2 million that Biden drew for his final State of the Union speech in 2024, Variety reported.
Trump didn’t beat his own State of the Union speeches, though. In 2017 he racked up 47.7 millions, then in 2018 he saw 45.6 million, followed in 2019 with 46.8 million, and then 37.2 million for his final speech in 2020. In comparison, Biden only had one SOTU speech that drew more when he saw 38.2 million in 2022. The rest of his speeches were far less than Trump’s in all respects and all on the same networks as Tuesday’s.
But, remember, Tuesday’s speech was not an official State of the Union speech.
The numbers also show that Fox News won the largest share of viewers, reaching 10.7 million viewers, which was 30 percent of the total audience.
While these numbers are great for Trump, other numbers are even better.
It was also reported after the speech — and much to the Democrats’ chagrin — that Americans loved his speech. Indeed, more than three quarters said it was a great speech.
The Hill, which is a left-leaning outfit, reported taht 66 percent of people approved of Trump’s speech while only 23 percent did not.
And the poll that paper cited was on the low end. Other polls, such as one from CBS/YouGov, found that 77 percent approved of the speech!
The Democrats on clearly on the wrong side of history, here. The numbers show that Trump is a unity president.
