The Rainbow Bridge in New York connects the US to Canada near Niagara Falls. A vehicle explosion today at the security booth at an inspection lane left the two occupants of the car dead and one CBP agent injured (minor).
Note: Some media are now reporting “no sign of terrorism.” (Typical of the media.) Is this a coverup, or just a random car explosion?
Sources tell Fox News that the explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the U.S. and Canada was a terrorist attack.
The two people who were in the car are dead.
Lucky, no one else has been killed. One border officer was reportedly injured with minor cuts and back pain.
“The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the US and Canada in Niagara Falls,” the FBI said.
The news comes less than one day after CBS News got word that there was “an increasing terrorist threat to New York State tied to Israel-Hamas war.” Collin Rugg on X.com
A vehicle was seen barreling toward the bridge at around 100 mph from the Canadian side. The car was reportedly laden with explosives. All border crossings between the US and Canada in Western New York have been closed.
“Official details of the incident were murky. The Niagara Gazette newspaper, citing law enforcement sources, said the car sped onto the bridge plaza, went through a fence separating the inbound lanes from the outbound lanes, and toward the inspection lanes, where it exploded.
The Rainbow Bridge and the three other border crossings between western New York and Canada – the Peace Bridge, the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and the Whirlpool Bridge – were shut down indefinitely as a precaution, the New York governor’s office said.” Reuters

CBS News wasn’t the only one alerted to a possible terror attack: Yesterday, NY Governor Hochul gave a speech in which she promised the NY authorities would be on the alert for any terror attack.
The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force is monitoring the New York border crossings. This type of attack is common with jihadists. Whether or not it was a result of the Israel-Hamas war is unknown.
After explaining what a car and a bomb was to the feeble President, the White House was closely monitoring the situation, as well, a spokesperson said.
