Vice President Kamala Harris likes to pretend that she grew up in a "middle-class" family, but records show that her family had quite enough money to send her to a private school, make repeated trips to Jamaica, and visit tony California hotspot Palo Alto.

For instance, on Sept. 13, Harris said, "Let me be clear: I will always put the middle class and working families first. I know where I came from."

But as Breitbart News points out, Harris had far more opportunities than most other "middle class" people do. Indeed, Harris, who was born in Oakland, but lived in upper-class Berkeley, Calif., didn't really have a "working mother" like that term implies. Her mother was a university researcher, not a Walmart cashier.

Her family loved around a bit in her early years, but always to an upper-class neighborhood around one university campus or another.

Harris went to several private schools in her younger days, as well. And in the summers she spent time with her father -- who had split from her mother -- in ritzy Palo Alto, Calif.

Then there were the frequent visits to sunny Jamaica that she and her sister took with her mother. A normal "middle class" family would be excited to have visited Jamaica once in their lives, not half a dozen times.

Later, a 13-year-old Kamala and her mother moved to an upper-class neighborhood in Montreal, Canada. Once again, living in an area that was hardly "middle class." And there she attended an alternative public school Fine Arts Core Elementary School. Again, not very "middle class."

After graduating high school in Canada, she attended the expensive Vanier College in Canada and paid the higher rates that foreign students pay. Again, hardly a "middle class" opportunity.

Breitbart News has a ton more information just like this, but the bottom line of the research is that Kamala Harris lived an upper-class life and NOT a "middle class" life. She had far more upper-class opportunities than any middle-class kid did in the 70s and 80s or does today.
