They say New York City gun control works, they say New York City is safe…they say a lot of things.

A gang of five black teenagers surrounded a father and his 18 year old daughter as they walked through the Osborn Playground in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn last Thursday night, a little after 9pm.

The group of thugs’ ages ranged from 14 to 17 years old.  One of these scumbags pulled a gun on the father and told him to leave.  The father, being a law abiding citizen, living in a city where only the rich, famous or criminal can have the means to defend themselves ran off to find help.

In his absence, the five scumbags took turns raping his daughter.

By the time the father returned to the park with two NYPD police officers in tow, the 5 rapists fled.

Rape is one of the most brutal acts that can be perpetrated because it not only is an assault on the body but also on the mind and the spirit.  My heart goes out to this girl and to all victims of predators like these cowardly 5 little dirtbags.

Now, do not get me wrong with what I am about to say because I place blame DIRECTLY on the five reprobates, but gun control and those who espouse it are complicit in allowing such victimization to occur.

All the gun laws on the books, nay all the gun laws that COULD be on the books did not stop some teenage scum from illegally getting a gun and then using it to perpetrate the crime of rape.

This is a tragic yet telling example of just what gun control does.  The father did EXACTLY what gun controllers think he should have done.  He ran away to get the police officers while his daughter was left to be gang raped.

Don’t believe me?  The following meme was placed on the Brady Campaign’s Facebook page in 2014.

I also include the screen shot for those doubters who like to say it ain’t so.

So gun controllers got exactly what they wanted in this situation.  Instead of the city of New York trusting its own citizens with the means to protect themselves, it made the choice to let an 18 year old girl get gang raped while she had to watch her father run away from her in order to find police.

Once again, gun control protects who it always does…the criminals.

NYC Mayor DeBlasio then gets in front of the media and blathers on about how upset he is:

“I am disgusted and deeply saddened by the horrific attack.”

As he should be.  As we all should be.  As I said rape is a brutal attack of the body, mind and spirit but even moreso in this case as a daughter had to watch her father flee and a father had to make the heart wrenching decision to do so in order to find help instead of having the means to provide that means himself.

It’s when the Mayor continues that the get laughable:

Every New Yorker in every neighborhood deserves to feel safe and protected, and we will not stop until the perpetrators of this disturbing attack are held accountable for their actions.”

NO!

Every New Yorker in every neighborhood deserves to BE safe and protected.

Having to run around looking for police while your daughter is being raped is not being or feeling safe.  Having a .45 on your hip ready to put down the rabid animals that walk on two feet BEFORE they rape our daughter is what being safe feels like.  Gun controllers just don’t accept that.

The Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams released an interesting statement calling on the New York Police Department to conduct a full investigation “not only to identify all those responsible for this horrific attack, but also to determine if everything possible was done to protect the victim and the public.”

I can tell you right now that not everything possible was done.  With so much infringement upon the 2nd Amendment within NYC, with what equates to poll taxes so high simply to exercise your right to keep and bear arms, with issuing authorities able to deny weapons permits (which are unconstitutional in the first place) on nothing more than a whim, nearly the entire city is unable to lawfully walk out of their homes with the ability to protect themselves.

So no Borough President Adams, everything possible was not done.

Looking over the police statements I saw something that reminded me of an old adage that I wish in this case wasn’t true.

Police Spokesman Stephen Davis spoke on the issue:

“A patrol car from the 73rd Precinct was approached on the street and told about the attack by the victim’s father, who directed the officers to the scene.”

“The police officers immediately responded and located the victim.  The suspects had already fled.”

When seconds count police are just minutes away.

A lot can happen in the time it takes for police officers to “immediately respond”…like a young woman can get gang raped and her attackers can flee before the police arrive.

Police don’t usually stop crime…they investigate and arrest those who have ALL READY COMMITTED the crime.  In this case 4 of the rapists have been arrested with one still on the loose.

I would assume that is some small solace to the victim and her father…though I can only imagine having the 5 scumbags dead on the ground before the rape could have taken place would have been preferred by both of them.

Gun control…still keeping criminals and rapists safe in the Big Apple.
