Leftists are not true to their corrupt ideology if they aren’t lying about something and their lies about what the Christian Bible says about illegal migrants is a perfect example of this.
Liberals are increasingly throwing around the false claim that the “real” Bible tells Christians to love all illegal migrants like they love their own family and to rush to support all illegals in our midst. But, the actual Bible does not act like a blanket approval of illegal immigration.
Leftist Devin Duke recently posted a version of this leftist lie that quickly garnered six million views.

Well, that seems pretty irrefutable, doesn’t it? Of course, it isn’t. Because full context matters. The Bible is not a societal suicide pact and the totality of Bible verses dealing with immigration shows that this passage has an awful lot of qualifiers. It isn’t the lone source of Biblical guidance for immigration by a long shot.
In response, another X user filled out the verses that deal with immigration that puts the Leviticus passage in context.
For instance, even in Leviticus, the topic is applied to legal residents who obey Jewish laws, not just any illegal migrant.
Let us begin with the fundamental premise of Leviticus 19:33–34. These verses instruct the Israelites on how to treat gerim, or sojourners, resident aliens who, crucially, accepted the laws of Israel and lived peaceably among the people. These were not foreign invaders, illegal squatters, or enemies of the covenant. They were, to borrow a modern analogy, lawful immigrants or refugees under the jurisdiction of Mosaic law. Leviticus 24:22 reinforces this distinction: “You shall have the same law for the foreigner and for the native-born.” In other words, the ger was held to the same moral and legal standards as the Israelite.
X user “amuse” noted that many others advised Jews to deal harshly with illegals who refuse to obey local laws. In Exodus 23:33, the Bible tells Jews that migrants “shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me.” And Numbers 33:55 tells Jews to drive illegals out and “those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides.”
That does not at all sound as if just any illegal alien is worthy of our love and attention.
Then there are colliery passages. Deuteronomy 17:15, for one, tells Jews not to elect foreigners to their government offices, saying, “You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.” And Deuteronomy 28 warns that having too many foreigners in their midst will result in Jews losing power over their own government as foreigners take root.
But, OK, you may say those are all Old Testament passages, what about the New Testament? Well, those books also say not to let foreigners gain too much influence and comfort among us. In Revelation 11:2, we are all warned of a time when the Gentiles take over the Holy City. And, yes, that is portrayed as a bad thing.
Clearly the Bible does not present a shrug of the shoulders to a tidal wave of illegals who refuse to speak our language, refuse to revere our political system, and refuse to become Americans. And the Bible does not say that we, as Christians — or as a nation — should bow before the waves of foreigners who want to come here to steal from us all, treat our nation like their personal ATMs, and to other wise kick us in the face as we genuflect to “compassion.”
But, let’s also point out the utter hypocrisy of leftists like Devin Duke trying to use the Bible — the text of a religion they hate, the very religion that they want to destroy — as the very example of immigration policy.
