Ever since Dana Bash moderated the debate that deep-sixed Biden, she’s been desperate to prove her Blue Team credentials.
Don’t take our word for it; look at the lopsided handling of a sit-down with the Dem ticket compared to how she’s interacting with JD Vance.
Absent any evidence at all, she’s accusing Trump and Vance of being responsible for political violence in Springfield, Ohio. She gets even more specific… laying responsibility for bomb threats that have been made against schools and other public buildings at the feet of the Trump/Vance ticket.
Gov. Devine held a press conference where he talked about that incident. It wasn’t just a series of hoaxes—it was worse than that. This series of hoaxes came from overseas.
The establishment media spent the weekend blaming Trump and Vance's "rhetoric" for the bomb threats in Springfield, Ohio. Now, as it turns out, the governor says that there were all hoaxes—at least some of which were perpetrated by foreign adversaries.pic.twitter.com/FvJy1ws82f

Strictly speaking, this is foreign meddling in domestic election issues. And like an obedient little ‘useful idiot,’ she took these allegations as gospel truth, magnified them far beyond their original context, and accused Vance and Trump of inciting violence.
Thirty-three threats. All of them are hoaxes.
Some of them coming ‘from a particular country’, which was not named. But there was an explicit mention of using this as an opportunity to ‘mess with the United States’… and ‘we cannot let the bad guys win.’
Just before the 2-minute mark, JD Vance starts taking Bash apart for these baseless allegations.

What was the mayor’s ACTUAL quote, which Bash took entirely out of context?
He said that such talk ‘hurt’ his community. You know, a term that can mean anything from ‘some residents found his words upsetting’ to ’caused reputational harm.’ For Dana to extend the implied meaning of that phrase to blame him, personally, for bomb threats… on the same weekend that a SECOND attempt was made on Trump’s life opens THEM up to precisely the same criticism.
With one difference. If some political radical REALLY believes that Trump is ‘literally Hitler,’ as so many journos have claimed and that Trump really IS leading the ‘existential threat’ to America that the ‘extreme MAGA’ crowd is supposed to be… what would a frothing-at-the-mouth political by-any-means-necessary type that the activist left is so appealing to take from that characterization?
The would-you-murder-Hitler question is already a widely accepted thought exercise… because of how much evil and suffering his death could have prevented. How big a jump would it take for some whackjob to imagine himself transformed from a go-nowhere loser to a savior of America just by picking up a rifle and putting an end to Orange Man Bad?
Only the shooter and the shooter are responsible for the shooter’s actions. But there are a lot of nihilist wanna-be commie revolutionaries for which this language presents a pathway to finding meaning in an otherwise dreary life.
