In what could not be a better example of “go woke, go broke,” the lefty wunderkinds running the Netherlands have gone nearly all green energy, and now, they are getting their just rewards by having to ration electricity!
“More than 11,900 businesses are stuck in a queue for access to the network, alongside public buildings including hospitals, schools and fire stations,” the Daily Mail reported.
And why did this happen? Why is a modern, western country, smaller than the U.S. state of Maine be having electricity shortages?
Because they got rid of their energy that worked and went green.
“After shutting down production at the massive Groningen gas field last year, the Dutch government has pushed a fast transition to electric heating, solar power and battery storage,” the paper added.
And of course: “The Netherlands has been one of Europe’s most aggressive adopters of green policies, aiming to cut emissions in half by 2030.”
Here is a fact: so-called “green energy” is not… it is neither green nor energy. Well, at least it isn’t energy sufficient to run a city or a country.
Renewable energy is fine for running a house, or a building. Or maybe even a small business. But neither wind, nor battery, nor solar are scalable to power a city or a country. It simply isn’t useful at all for larger applications.
Of course, so-called green energy is not even the tiniest bit green. Without oil and fossil fuels, there can be no green energy. And the amount of fossil fuels it takes to bring us green energy negates the “green” part.
The Netherlands are learning their lesson the hard way.
