The establishment media is eating crow as a new Rasmussen survey released Thursday says two-thirds of likely voters “believe the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop containing emails about his business dealings is important, including 48% who think the story is Very Important.”

So much for the New York Times’ decision to sit on the story for months while trying to discredit it during the 2020 election campaign. Had voters known the story was true and understood the contents found on that laptop, it could have swung the election. Rasmussen’s survey revealed that 48 percent of voters said he would have lost if the media had “fully reported” the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the election. Forty-five percent believe the election outcome would have been the same.

But the country will never know because the media would not report the story, and critics contend it is because the media was “in the bag” for Biden and wanted Donald Trump defeated.

Now that the story is breaking, and even the NY Times has begrudgingly acknowledged the laptop’s existence, 75 percent of Republicans, 26 percent of Democrats, and 46 percent of Independents say the story is “very important.”

Worse for President Biden is that 73 percent of Republicans, 23 percent of Democrats, and 51 percent of Independent voters “believe it is Very Likely that Joe Biden was consulted about and perhaps profited from his son’s foreign business deals.” Sixty-eight percent of Democrats believe Biden would have won the 2020 election anyway, but only 23 percent of GOP voters and 41 percent of Independents think that would have been the outcome.

Since the story broke, 69 percent of voters told Rasmussen they have been closely following news reports in the Hunter Biden story. By no surprise, 51 percent of Republicans and only 26 percent of Democrats have followed the story, along with 34 percent of Independent voters.

The establishment media is held in low esteem by conservatives because of the perception of media bias toward Democrats.

Fox News is reporting that Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) “is demanding White House officials and Big Tech companies preserve any records pertaining to the suppression of Hunter Biden stories so that Republicans can launch an investigation if they win back the majority in the midterm elections.”

“We already know for a fact that Big Tech colluded with some of the nation’s most powerful media and most influential Democrat partisans in the intelligence community to suppress the truth, censor fact-based journalism, and cover for the Biden family,” Issa said in a prepared statement. “Now the full truth and complete accountability must follow.”

Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking poll shows Joe Biden’s popularity still in the basement. Thursday’s survey numbers show only 22 percent of voters “strongly approve” of the job Biden is doing, while 48 percent “strongly disapprove” of his job performance.

As noted by Rasmussen, “The New York Times last week admitted the authenticity of the emails found on a laptop that the president’s son abandoned in a Delaware computer repair shop.”
