Former Star Wars star Gina Carano has won a key victory in her lawsuit against Disney for improperly firing her from her lucrative streaming series because she is a conservative.
Disney had filed a request to the court to prevent Carano from being able to get her hands on what the company called “sensitive information.” But this week, the court ruled that Disney had to turn the info over whether it wanted to or not.
In a post on X, Carano thanked the court for siding with her…
“This is a small breath of fresh air in this long arduous process. I am grateful to the court for moving so quickly,” she wrote.
“I look forward to the details of my case becoming public and clearing my name, which will allow me to continue doing what I love without such brutal discrimination,” she said, adding, “I remain incredibly grateful for this opportunity to defend myself against this Goliath.”
She also thanked Elon Musk who is helping to pay her legal bills.

The “sensitive information” will include the salaries of Pedro Pascal and Rosario Dawson in the show she was featured in, The Mandalorian.
While the court’s order did not give Gina access to everything she was looking for, it made clear we can seek further evidence on actor compensation if our expert concludes such evidence is still necessary after we review what Disney produces in response to this order.

Carano needs this information to show how badly she was injured financially when Disney fired her for her conservative-minded posts on Twitter.
The wheels of the courts (I won’t say “justice”) move slowly, but this is a victory for Carano.
