A federal judge dismissed the corruption case against New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday.
Judge Dale E. Ho didn’t just dismiss the case, he dismissed it with prejudice, meaning prosecutors can’t try to bring the case back up after the coming mayoral election, the Associated Press reported.
Adams pleaded not guilty in September to charges of federal bribery, conspiracy, and campaign finance offenses. He was also accused ot taking illegal campaign contributions from the Turkish government.
The Trump administration moved to dismiss the charges in February after Adams promised to work with Trump on illegal immigration.
But even before all that, Trump had insisted that the prosecutors going after Adams are “dirty players” and that he was already considering a pardon for Adams.
