The Democratic National Committee got egg on its face on Monday when it posted a social media graphic that accidentally said that President Jimmy Carter, who is now 99 years old, is dead.

“In celebrating living Democrat presidents, the Democrat Party forgot Jimmy Carter,” radio host Jason Rantz guffawed in a post on X.

Rantz reposted the image that featured the message “Happy Presidents’ Day” and featured the living presidents, Clinton, Obama and Biden.

Somehow missing, though, was Jimmy Carter who is still very much alive.

Naturally, the post is ignorant for a second reason. We also have presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump with us today. Granted those two remaining presidents are not Democrats, but still, they SHOULD be included in any Presidents’ Day message. After all, whether Democrats like it or not, they were both duly elected to serve in the White House.

In any case, the DNC eventually deleted the post without comment.

Carter, who first entered the White House in 1980, is now living in hospice care and is certainly at the end of his life. But he is absolutely still alive… not that the DNC seemed to realize it.
