California residents protested covid restrictions.

Thanksgiving is now only a few days away, and the timing couldn’t be worse…at least regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Around the world (and around our nation), cases and death related to COVID-19 are increasing; in some cases, exponentially.  This has forced the CDC and other medical bodies to suggest that Thanksgiving might need to be adjusted to avoid creating conditions conducive to spreading the virus.  This includes the wild ideas of hosting dinner outside or via a visual hangout.

And, with cases rising so quickly, several state officials have pushed renewed lockdown measures as well.

Such a maneuver in California didn’t go over so well with the population.

Thousands of people in 16 California cities took to the streets on Saturday to protest Gov. Gavin Newsom’s curfew order requiring people to stay at home after 10 p.m. Carrying Trump/Pence flags and “Open up California” banners, the crowds began to gather at 10:01 p.m., including in Huntington Beach and San Clemente.

“Governor Newsom’s sweeping edicts by moving 95 percent of California to purple tier and a curfew is an abuse of power,” Syndie Ly, who helped organize the protest and was on the ground in San Clemente, told Breitbart News. “We are all responsible adults so we can make our individual choices.”

“This movement is about us rising up for our freedom and against Governor Newsom’s overreaching edicts,” Ly said.

Last week Newsom was caught breaking his own lockdown rules.

“This is tyrannical and government overreach on behalf of Gavin Newsom and other Democrat governors. The American people, as well as citizens of other countries need to stand up against this,” Nancy Vu-Kerr, who took part in the Huntington Beach protest, told Breitbart News. “Our freedoms are truly at risk and all we need to do is look at the history of my mother country of Vietnam, and other countries of Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and others.”

In locales such as New York, where local officials have mandated the size of a family’s Thanksgiving gathering, citizens are openly and proudly admitting that they will be refusing to comply, insisting that it is their right within their home to celebrate as they see fit. In the case of NY Cuomo, the lockdown seems to be more ego than anything. This is the guy responsible for 15+K deaths of seniors in nursing homes but published a book bragging how wonderful his COVID management was. And he was nominated for an Emmy for his daily COVID press conferences.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was caught breaking his own rules over the weekend, right after introducing Thanksgiving restrictions.

Like California, New Jersey, New York, and others, these new lockdown rules have more to do with the Governors’ egos and quest for power than protecting their citizens.

Below is a video of one of the California protests.
