California Governor Gavin Newsom and the state’s Democrat-infested legislature designated a whopping $24 billion tax dollars to fix the homeless problem there. Now they say they somehow “lost track” of $2.4 billion of that cash.

This is the same Gavin Newsom who thinks, in his arrogance, that he is a great candidate to become our next president, folks.

An audit has been conducted on this massive waste of money and, low and behold, it turned up huge problems.

According to the Los Angeles Times:

The audit by the global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal found that the city was unable to track exactly how much it spent on homeless programs and did not rigorously reconcile spending with services provided, making it impossible to judge how well the services worked or whether they were even provided.

Contracts written by LAHSA were vague, allowing wide variations in the services provided and their cost, it said.

Those findings echoed a November report by the Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller that found lax accounting procedures resulted in the failure to reclaim millions of dollars in cash advances to contractors and to pay other contractors on time, even when funds were available.

The audit, posted on the website of U.S. District Judge David O. Carter Thursday arose from a 2020 lawsuit filed by the L.A. Alliance for Human Rights, a group representing business owners, residents and property owners, which alleged that the city and county were failing in their duty to provide shelter and services for people living on the streets.

So, how is that spending going, anyway?

Did they at least help ease homelessness with the billions they did spend?

Nope. It got worse.

Per CalMatters:

The number of homeless Californians increased just over 3% last year compared to the year before, with more than 187,000 people sleeping on the street or in shelters in the state as of January 2024. Overall, the country saw an increase of slightly more than 18%, and 22 states saw double-digit increases

Think about this… the Democrats allocated $24 billion to the problem of homelessness. If there are 187,000 homeless people in the state, they could have just handed each one of them $128,000! And yet, all this spending has not helped at all. Indeed, there are more homeless than when they started!

Democrats are all liars and crooks.
