The Trump campaign has rid itself of Campaign Mgr Corey Lewandowski

Donald J. Trump’s campaign is parting ways with his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, a move that comes as the presumptive Republican nominee faces challenges as it moves toward a general election.

“The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican Primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign,” the campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said in a statement. “The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”

Mr. Trump had faced increasing concerns from allies and donors, as well as his children, about his preparedness to pivot toward a general election while holding onto his slender team.

Mr. Trump had faced increasing concerns from allies and donors, as well as his children, about the next phase of the campaign as he pivots toward a general election.

One person briefed on the moves, who asked not to be identified, said the campaign had long planned adjustments to adjust to the needs of a general election campaign.

Mr. Trump has recently seen his standing dropping in recent national polls, and is now facing a barrage of ads by Hillary Clinton and her allies.

Campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks released the following statement:

“The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign. The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”

Speaking of Hope Hicks there have been reports that Lewandowski has been abusive toward her

One particular outburst came when Hicks wanted to leave the campaign to return to a non-campaign PR position at Trump Tower. “You made a big f***ing mistake; you’re f***ing dead to me,” he told Hicks, bringing her to tears.

As campaign Mgr.,Corey Lewandowski ran a campaign which may have won primaries, but seemed woefully unprepared for a general election.

The now former Trump Campaign Mgr has been the source of many anti-Trump stories, stemming from Lewandowski anger issues and treatment of women.  Additionally Lewandowski had a hostile relationship with many members of the national press corps that covers Mr. Trump, and many officials at the Republican National Committee had strained relationships with him. Lewandowski had a contentious relationship with Trump’s chief strategist, Paul Manafort.
