As Joe Biden’s disastrous economy is forcing more and more Americans into financial distress, a new pledge is spreading across social media as people promise to make the rest of 2024 into a “no-buy year” where they swear off buying new things simply because they just can’t afford it.

Some are giving up fast-food, some new clothes, others are foreswearing going out to events like concerts, all because Joe Biden and Democrats is emptying their pockets with soaring taxes and inflationary prices of the things they have to buy just to exist.

Per the Associated Press:

A 35-year-old Brooklyn resident gave up buying new clothes. A 22-year-old in San Diego swore off retail therapy at Target. A 26-year-old in England banned carbonated drinks from her shopping list.

These three women, who don’t know each other, all started the year resolving to spend money only on necessary purchases, or what is popularly known as engaging in a no-buy challenge. The self-imposed rules of the challenge are simple: participants pledge to stop buying non-essential items, be they unneeded shoes, additional beauty products or other impulse buys for a set amount of time, usually 12 months.

What started several years ago as a blogged-about experiment in budgeting and mindful spending has become a popular trend on social media. A Reddit group where people share their experiences has 51,000 members. The challenge primarily gained popularity on TikTok, where some videos of users seeking to hold themselves accountable get hundreds of thousands of views.

Many of these folks are also finding that leading a more frugal life is helping them pay off their debt, too. Which is a good thing.

But, none of this would be happening if Biden’s economy has not been hurting everyone.

Even “the rich” are starting to see Biden hurting them in the wallet. Walmart, for instance, recently reported that it has had a huge uptick in customers among the upper income brackets that had never shopped there before.

Biden is destroying this country.
