It’s easy to tell when Barack Hussein Obama lies — his lips move.  While speaking at VTEX DAY, the largest digital innovation event in Latin America held this year in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the former president was caught telling several lies about gun laws in the United States.

According to the former president, who should know better, anyone can buy machine guns, even over the Internet, because there’s almost nothing that regulates the sale of firearms.

Some of you may be aware our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon any time — without much if any regulation, they can buy it over the Internet, they can buy machine guns

Naturally, the BS meters pegged on social media:

Dana is a friend of mine, and I hate correcting her in public, but she is wrong. It’s not that everything Obama says here is false, everything he says everywhere is fake. Most commenters seemed to agree with me here are a few examples

I wouldn’t wait too long, buddy.

Cam Edwards of NRA TV noted:

The Daily Caller correctly added:

U.S. Federal firearms laws are stricter than Obama represented. Gun purchasers must be at least 18 for rifles and shotguns, and 21 for handguns, and pass a background check if they buy from a dealer, according to the National Rifle Association.

In addition, fully automatic machine guns cannot be sold to private citizens, as written in the National Firearms Act.

It’s no secret that Barack Obama isn’t a big fan of the Bill of Rights or the truth, so the former President’s words in Brazil should not be surprising.
