Americans no longer trust the FBI according to the latest CNN poll.
CNN’s Harry Enten recently found that trust in the corrupt, partisan, Gestapo that used to be our Federal Bureau of Investigation has seriously eroded.
Enten found that a large majority had faith in the FBI in 2014. Then the positives sat at about 59 percent. But by 2019 that number started to fall and sat at 57 percent. By 2022 it collapsed and fell to 50% in 2022. But this year it fell even faster and now on 41 percent trust the FBI.
That is a very quick fall in positive numbers, for sure.
“Look at where we are today, my goodness gracious, just 41% of Americans think the FBI is doing an excellent or good job. That is by far the lowest number this century,” Enten said. “The bottom line is during the Trump administration obviously there were the investigations into Donald Trump. You saw a little bit of drop then, and then post-January 6, look at that drop. 50%, now 41%. My goodness gracious.”
Enten added that the low level of trust might mean that Kash Patel will have a much easier time making major and drastic changes in the bureau.
“I think Patel has real reason to believe that Americans would go along with changes he might potentially make at the FBI, and there’s a reason why Donald Trump feels like he can make this change,” Enten added.
WATCH:
"Jeez Louise": Views of the FBI have really soured in the last decade. The FBI's approval has gone from 59% to its century low mark at 41%.
The drop with the GOP is even greater from 62% to 26%.
