Lord, who grants salvation to kings and dominion to rulers, whose kingdom spans all eternities; Who places a road in the sea and a path in the mighty waters – may you bless and protect the military of these United States of America, may they complete their mission quickly, and return home safely. HaShem, please bless those who served with wholeness and love. Shelter them, heal their wounds, comfort their hearts, and grant them peace.
Compassionate God, creator of the Universe, on this Veteran’s Day and every day, may you bless those who served and who put themselves in harm’s way to protect these United States. Let every veteran of our nation’s armed forces feel truly and appropriately honored by the attention and appreciation of their fellow citizens. Let no one feel forgotten or neglected. Let every man and woman who served, young or old, feel the deep and enduring gratitude of our nation and its inhabitants.
Lord, please also protect the families of those who serve and have served. Let us be mindful of their great sacrifice as well. As their loved ones fight for us, let us extend our hands and our hearts to them.
May you give strength to the doctors treating the wounded and provide comfort to those who have lost loved ones. For those who have lost their lives, May you grant comfort to all who love them.
Eternal one who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, may you bless all those who have fought in the military on behalf of the United States of America, in every time and era, in every place. Please bless all who served that they should be successful in their civilian lives.
May the President, the Vice President, and all the constituted officers of this land’s government make the correct decisions to protect our heroes’ lives. May they avoid needless wars, and when they send Americans to fight, may they give them all the tools, including rules of engagement, to bring them home safely and in victory. May they ensure that those who have served get the quality medical help we promised them. May our elected officials execute their responsibilities with intelligence, honor, and compassion.
And may these United States continue to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.
