By now everyone has heard or is familiar with Mrs. Clinton’s “deplorables” statement from last weekend in which she said,
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’ Right? They’re racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.”
I hate to say it, but Mrs. Clinton is right for once. I met a lot of Trump supporters this summer, and I was surprised how many were deplorable.
They were doctors, lawyers, retired and active military, local police, college students, moms, dads, grandparents, sales reps, Wal-Mart employees, disabled, football players, baseball players, teachers, mechanics, married, single, pastors, and college professors just to name a few.
They were upper class, lower class, middle class and yes, a few had no class. These deplorables were black, white, and even Hispanic. They were male and female. Jew and Gentile.
Now, because I am a man, I don’t get offended. I, for one, do and will not give another human being that much power in my life. And I will wear Hillary’s “deplorable” moniker with pride.
But my question is “what makes us so deplorable?” Is it because we don’t support her? A woman who has been involved in more scandals than any other former government official in history?
Mrs. Clinton and her media love to point out that David Duke supports Trump. They lament that the Grand Poobah of the Ku Klux Knuckleheads endorsed Trump. And as the logic goes, if they support Trump, then his message must be racist, sexist, xenophobic, etc. An ad hominem attack to say the least.
But what gets me, that which sticks in my craw, is the number of socialists and communists who have come out in support of Mrs. Clinton and her media barely notices.
NewsBusters.org, with tongue planted firmly in cheek, observes, “John Bachtell…endorsed Hillary and the headlines were everywhere. Oh, wait, sorry. Mr. Bachtell’s Hillary endorsement was apparently not newsy enough to make the mainstream media headlines. Curious, yes? If the endorsement of Trump by the ex-head of the Ku Klux Klan is big news, one would expect a Hillary endorsement by the head of the Communist Party USA would be a big deal as well.”
You would think, right? Mr. Bachtell is, after all, the national chair for the CPUSA! He is not only a card-carrying communist, but he’s proud of it.
“You recall the Communists, yes? The folks who produced Stalin and Mao [and Putin]? The advocates of a political philosophy that is described in The Black Book of Communism as being responsible for ‘between 85 million and 100 million’ deaths? in ‘the most colossal case of political carnage in history.’ Ring a bell? The Soviet Union? The Cold War? The Iron Curtain? Korea? Vietnam? The Khmer Rouge? Come on, you remember.” — ibid.
As stated above, Hillary’s media doesn’t make a sound. Their silence is loud! They do not question and scrutinize this endorsement of Hillary by Communists.
But if Trump gets the endorsement from a group in which 99% of his supports disavow, then we all get lumped in together and called deplorables.
Perhaps the real reason we are deplorables is that we believe Hillary has broken the law and deserves to be indicted and prosecuted?
