“We will raise taxes, yes we will!” — Bernie Sanders, Democrat Candidate for President
In the last Democrat presidential debate, socialist[score] Bernard Sanders[/score] (I-VT) made an astounding promise the American people. “We will raise taxes, yes we will. But also let us be clear, Chris: There’s a little bit of disingenunity out there. We may raise taxes but we are also going to eliminate private health insurance premiums for individuals and for businesses. If you’re not paying any more private health insurance are you going to be complaining about the fact that I’ve saved you $5,000 in your total bill?”
This wasn’t the first time that Bernie has explicitly told us that, as President, he would be raising taxes, but it may have been the clearest example of it. Coupled with the fact that Bernie has promised more than $18 TRILLION in NEW spending over the next ten years, and America could be in BIG trouble if he is elected President. The likelihood of a Sanders election is not great, but it’s not because of the GOP fighting back against socialism. It’s because there are still Democrats who are trying to pretend that their Party isn’t socialist.
Case in point, listen to what [score]Nancy Pelosi[/score] said about Bernie’s tax and spend promises.
“We’re not running on any platform of raising taxes,” Pelosi said during a press briefing to launch the Democrats’ yearly issues conference in Baltimore, Md. “We do want to have a fairer tax system, and … we hope that we can do that this year.”
Pelosi also argued that Sanders was being unreasonable with his healthcare demands as well.
“He’s talking about a single-payer, and that’s not going to happen. I mean, does anybody in this room think that we’re going to be discussing a single-payer. I’ve been for single-payer for 30 years, and it is a very popular idea in our country. But we have made a decision about where we’re going on healthcare…
We have a very realistic plan that’s out there. Can it be improved upon? Everything can. But it’s no use having a conversation about something that’s not going to happen.”
How crazy liberal do your ideas have to be to have Nancy Pelosi criticizing you? Pretty darn extreme. And that’s who (and what) Bernie Sanders is. He’s an extremist. He is an avowed socialist who given his druthers would turn the United States into a socialist nation, with all of its “breadline creating” trappings. The Democrat Party may not be on board with him yet, but they are closer to his position than ever before and the only way we can stop our national slide into socialism is to demand that these liberals shift back to the right. Seriously considering Bernie Sanders for the presidency means that our nation is on the brink of disaster.
