Vernon Jones (D) broke with his party by endorsing President Trump’s reelection bid, citing the president’s handling of the economy and support for historically black colleges.  Unfortunately for Vernon Jones hatred of President Trump is the only allowable position for the Georgia Democratic Party. Jones said he also spoke with his family and supporters before reversing his decision.

“Because of what you did for me, I’m going to remain on the battlefield. I’m going to complete my term. I’m going to continue to put my country before my party.”

Jones also said in the video, “I’m going to do everything I can to help Donald J. Trump get re-elected because he’s the man for this job.”

He will finish his term but he will not run for reelection. Mr. Jones filed paperwork to withdraw his candidacy for re-election, according to his spokesman. That is too bad because we need more people in politics like Vernon Jones.
