Those who believe President Trump actually meant to rebuild and own the Gaza Strip and turn it into the Middle East’s Riveria hot spot owned by the U.S. never saw him negotiate.

Donald Trump never meant for this proposal to happen.  His usual negotiation method is to start with a proposal that is far out. Some people will even describe them as absolutely crazy. Look at what happened with Canada and Mexico. Trump threatened a 25% tariff on all their products sold here. The Democrats went mad. They told everybody they could find it was going to ruin the economy.

But just as Trump knew it would happen, Canada and Mexico blinked and gave in to Trump’s demands on the day the tariffs were supposed to start.

When Trump announced his Gaza Rivera plan, the reaction in the arab world was very negative

”“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterates its firm rejection of any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday night. “This includes opposition to Israeli settlement policies, the annexation of Palestinian lands, and efforts to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland.”

Regarding what is being said about the displacement of Palestinians, it can never be tolerated or allowed because of its impact on Egyptian national security,” el-Sisi told a press conference”

Jordan’s King Abdullah II said that Palestinians must remain on their land.;The king stressed during meetings in Brussels “Jordan’s firm position on the need to keep the Palestinians on their land and to guarantee their legitimate rights, in accordance with the Israeli and Palestinian two-state solution”, the royal palace said in a statement.

And that’s precisely the reaction Trump wanted to get. The real reason he wanted to create a ‘Monaco by the Sea is that Trump wanted to motivate Gaza’s neighbors to get off their collective arses and fix Gaza without leaning on America.  And it’s happening.

Working with regional and international partners, Cairo seeks to facilitate humanitarian aid, prevent further instability, and oppose Palestinian displacement. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is holding high-level diplomatic talks,  (…)

(…) Egypt’s plan includes an immediate focus on restoring essential services, such as electricity, water, and medical facilities, while long-term projects will prioritize local labor, ensuring Palestinians are employed in the rebuilding process.(…)

(…) At the upcoming Arab summit in Riyadh, regional leaders—including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan—will seek consensus on Gaza’s future, with Cairo leading efforts to secure financial commitments for reconstruction. The summit is expected to address both governance and economic stability, with Egypt pushing for a structured funding framework to support rebuilding efforrwhile opposing any mass relocation of Palestinians and ensuring that Palestinian self-governance remains intact.(…)

(…) “The Riyadh summit will be a defining moment in shaping a unified Arab response to the crisis in Gaza,” Kazziha explained. “Egypt will ensure that Palestinians remain in their homeland rather than being forcibly removed”.

The whole plan, which can be seen here, was designed by Egypt and is being “massaged” by a group of other Arab nations. So far, those countries have pledged a total of $20 of the $55 billion needed for the plan. There is no word on where they intend to get the remaining $35 billion.

Now it’s the Donald Trump ‘drop the mike” time.

Egypt and Jordan believe they have successfully dissuaded US President Donald Trump from backing a forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and that the US has gotten behind an Egyptian post-war plan for the enclave, a senior Egyptian official told Middle East Eye.

“This will be an Egyptian plan adopted and supported by the Arabs,” the official said. “That is what Trump has agreed to.”

As you know, Gaza rehabilitation will be created and supported by a cadre of Arab nations who will be charged with building and raising the money to rebuild Gaza. Thus, Donald Trump’s Middle East Riveria plan served its purpose.

That is called The Art of the Deal.
