Elections have consequences, as President Barack Obama has been so fond of reminding the nation at every opportunity in the last eight years. And the consequences of President “Pen and Phone” have been severe: he pushed Obamacare through with only unilateral support, and has added some 600 regulations, costing America more than $100 Million, via executive order.
Aside from the financial cost of Obama’s tenure, and even more ominous, has been the moral havoc resulting from the President’s edicts and SCOTUS appointments. The LGBT agenda has been glorified, Muslims and Islam praised, marriage redefined, and abortion, the murder of our most innocent, touted and expanded.
But then came Election 2016 which surprised the nation and renewed hope among conservatives, and especially conservative Christians. Though Donald Trump had led a worldly life, cozy with so many on The Left, somehow he began a conversion of sorts in the last few years, moving to the right as he saw the abysmal failure of Democrats and the liberal, humanist worldview.
Trump left The Left, became pro-life, and moved to the right, embracing so many conservative values. He championed the military, advocating for our veterans. He broached the horror of partial birth abortion in one of the presidential debates against rabidly pro-abortion Hillary Clinton. He criticized Obamacare and stumped about securing the border and vetting all immigrants. He recognized natural marriage.
Donald Trump had a literal awakening, a point where he realized the godless, liberal worldview ultimately ends in failure and death. That government dependency breeds more dependency and ungrateful, bitter, non-productive citizens.
Many #NeverTrump people agreed with what he was saying, but also believed him incapable of following through. The common refrain was, “You cannot trust Donald Trump! He will be no better than Hillary with U.S. Supreme Court nominees! You’re all being duped!”
But President-elect Donald J. Trump is surprising people. He gave a humble and warm victory speech. He’s reached out to critics amicably. He appointed Vice President-elect Mike Pence as head of the transition team. And every day since has been a happy surprise as Trump has picked solid people for his cabinet.
No cabinet pick is more surprising, or more exciting, than U.S. Representative Tom Price (R–Ga.) for the Department of Health and Human Services. Congressman Price has a long record of opposition to Obamacare.
But there’s more — and all of this will make Lefties’ heads explode.
Here’s a sampling from Wikipedia of why every conservative and conservative Christian should be thanking God for this terrific appointment:
In 2011, Price voted to prohibit funding of NPR, to terminate the Emergency Mortgage Relief Program, to extend the PATRIOT act, to repeal portions of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 on multiple occasions, to reduce non-security discretionary spending to 2008 levels, to reduce Federal spending and the deficit by terminating taxpayer financing of presidential election campaigns and party conventions, to provide funding for government agencies, including the Department of Defense, through September 30, 2011, to cut the Federal Housing Authority’s refinancing program, and against a resolution which would force the president to withdraw American forces from Iraq.
Tom Price opposes abortion and supported the proposed Protect Life Act, which would have denied Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) funding to health care plans that offered abortion (the PPACA already prevented public funding covering abortions) and allowed hospitals to decline to provide emergency abortion care. He was rated at 100 by the National Right to Life Center. He was rated at 0 by Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America. He participated in the 2011 March for Life.
Tom Price opposes gun control. He praised the Supreme Court’s decisions in District of Columbia v. Heller, which found that the absolute prohibition of handguns in the District of Columbia was unconstitutional, and McDonald v. Chicago, which stated that the Second Amendment applied to the states.[44] He was given an “A” grade by the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, a 92% approval rating overall from the National Rifle Association and an 83% approval rating from the Gun Owners of America, and a 0% approval rating from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
Tom Price voted against a bill prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation (Nov 2007). He voted in favor of constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman (Jul 2006). Representative Price voted against H.R. 2965, which would have ended Don’t ask, don’t tell. He receives a 0% rating by the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights organization.
And there are so many more reasons to celebrate Tom Price’s addition to the Trump Cabinet. You can find them as well as the rest of this article at “Saving Our Future” by clicking –>Trump Picks Pro-Life, Pro-Marriage, Anti-Obamacare Price to Head HHS
