The left just keeps getting dumber. This time they are saying that “gun violence” is caused when poor people can’t afford dental care.
No, seriously. That is the line of nonsense we find in an online anti-gun journal called “The Trace.” It is a site funded by the anti-gun group Every Clown for Gun Safety… oh, I mean Everytown for Gun Safety.
Again, they are serious with this absurd nonsense that they are trying to pass off as “science.”
The Trace article, entitled “Gun Violence Linked to Surprising Side-Effect: Poor Dental Health,” claims that there must be a link because gun violence is highest in “communities with the highest rates of gun violence, residents are less likely to receive dental care.”
So, how do they justify this arm-breaking stretch? It is because, they claim, that people in these communities have “a pervasive sense of fear, chronic stress, and social and economic disruption brought on by firearm violence could potentially contribute to adverse health behaviors,” including “poor oral health.”
Their solution is to offer more dental and oral healthcare to people in these poor communities to somehow solve gun violence.
Of course, this is all foolishness. People in these communities drink water, too. Is drinking water a cause of gun violence?
Many of them have cell phones. Do cell phones cause gun violence?
They wear shoes and maybe have bad feet. Did that cause gun violence?
The point it, coincidences do not correlate to cause. This is the most absurd excuse for “science” you can find.
