Twitter’s Jack Dorsey appeared at Wednesday’s Senate hearing about Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects social media.
When it came time for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to ask questions, Dorsey was obviously outmatched. His answers were inconsistent and did more to sell the fact that Twitter’s only policy is to screw conservatives and protect Biden, than the social media being fair.
At one point, Dorsey said the Post story was blocked because of Twitter’s hacked materials policy, which supposedly limits the spread of hacked materials. But he admitted that he realizes that the NY Post materials weren’t the result of a hack. Cruz confronted him with the fact that the Post account was still blocked.
When Dorsey couldn’t explain why the hacked President Trump’s alleged tax returns weren’t blocked, an obvious breach of their “hacked materials policy,” Cruz got angry. He unloaded on the Twitter CEO, slamming his platform’s actions against conservatives honing in on the censorship of the NY Post’s Hunter/Joe Biden corruption story.
“Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear? And why do you persist in behaving as a Democratic super PAC, silencing views to the contrary of your political beliefs?”
