I was kind of surprised when I heard that Barbara Streisand was asked to come to Israel to perform at the countries 60th anniversary celebration, after all she has never been afraid to open her left-wing mouth on political issues, but she has been strangely silent on Israel, the constant barrage of terrorism it faces and how the world constantly tries to delegitimize the Jewish State. In fact the next time the Jewish-Born Ms. Streisand speaks out in support of Israel or ANY Jewish cause it will be her first.
Keeping true to her tradition, Ms Streisand has pulled out of Israel’s 60th anniversary–the reason, President Bush will be there. Man she is a fool:
Bush scared away Streisand?

JERUSALEM – Did Babs get a case of President Bush fright? That’s the speculation among organizers here working on Israel’s upcoming 60th anniversary celebrations who were surprised yesterday when entertainer Barbra Streisand abruptly pulled out the jubilee event. Streisand had accepted an invitation by Israeli President Shimon Peres to perform at a festive Jerusalem convention next month. She was to sing a rendition of the Hebrew prayer Avinu Malkeinu, or Our Father Our King. Pere’s office today announced Streisand canceled but gave no reason for her sudden change of heart. The anniversary convention’s guest list is slated to include heads and former heads of state, such as Bush and Tony Blair, and business tycoons such as Google founder Sergey Brin. Sources in the Jerusalem municipality planning the event said workers are speculating the singer backed out once she understood Bush was to attend the event at which she was slated to perform. “From what we understand, when she first accepted, Streisand didn’t know she would sing at an event where Bush would be involved,” said one municipality source. The source stressed he was not in contact with Streisand or her representatives and was not sure whether Bush’s scheduled appearance was indeed the reason the performer canceled. “It’s what we’re guessing,” the source said. “We’re very disappointed she backed out.” A representative for Streisand could not be immediately reached for comment. Streisand has been well known for canceling performances, citing stage fright or security concerns. But she returned to the stage in several performances the past three years. Streisand has been a fierce opponent of Bush and of America’s war in Iraq. She has ripped the president and his administration on her website numerous times, once likening the Bush administration to “witches.” At a Philadelphia concert in 2006 with an audience of some 16,000, Streisand reportedly featured a skit in which an actor playing Bush stated, “I’m concerned about the national debt, so I’m selling Canada,” and “If I cared about the polls I would have run for president of Poland.”
