Sorry If I find this entire thing offensive. As of early this morning 675,000 digital signatures appear on 69 different secession petitions (at least one for each of the 50 states). The petitions appear on the White House. “We the People” online petition site.
The way the petition site works is anyone can start a petition which gets 25,000 viral signatures in 30 days gets an answer from the Administration.
To avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may
decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory,
or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal
departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government
in its response to a petition.
They may also give a snarky or even a typical political “non-answer” answer. The petition is a cute little gimmick where the Administration can give the appearance of being responsive to the people.
Is Biden's Vaccine Mandate Unconstitutional?
According to the Daily Caller:
Petitions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas
residents have accrued at least 25,000 signatures, the number the Obama
administration says it will reward with a staff review of online
Texas petition leads all others by a wide margin. Shortly before
midnight Tuesday, it had attracted more than 92,400 signatures. But a
spokesperson for Gov. Rick Perry said Tuesday afternoon that he does not
support the idea of his state striking out on its own.
Perry believes in the greatness of our Union and nothing should be done
to change it. But he also shares the frustrations many Americans have
with our federal government,” according to a statement from the
States whose active petitions have not yet reached the 25,000 signature threshold include Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois,Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico,New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin andWyoming.
States represented by at least two competing petitions. The extra efforts from two states — Missouri and South Carolina
— would add enough petitions to warrant reviews by the Obama
administration if they were combined into petitions launched earlier.
Other states with multiple efforts include Alaska, California, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The petitions have no legal standing, and will probably not receive an answer because we already answered the secession issue between 1860-1864 the bloodiest war in our history, the “Civil” War 624,511 Dead 475,811 wounded.
This petition drive is an expression of people’s first amendment right to free speech. They are protesting the results of the election, nevertheless this drive angers me.
No one is more disappointed in the results of last week’s election than I am. Along with many of my friends and readers I worked tirelessly for a different result. Many on the conservative side felt (and feel) another four years of Barack Obama and the progressives in our government will destroy the freedoms the United States have held dear for over 236 years.
But aren’t those freedoms worth fighting for? Even after four years of Obama can anyone point to a better country in the entire world? A better political system? As ill as it makes me America chose-we lost.
When George Washington left the Presidency after two terms it was an incredible unprecedented act. A peaceful transfer of power. I submit to you the real test came four years later when John Adams lost his re-election bid to Thomas Jefferson and peacefully turned power over to his hateful opposition. That act established an American tradition, we fight like hell against each other, but when we lose even to our political opposites, like Carter to Reagan, or Bush To Obama power is peacefully transferred, and its citizens still work hard to preserve the political system, country that gave them so much.
For those who love this country and the opportunities our Republic have given us–its got to be worth hanging out and fighting to preserve our liberties. At this point we still have most of our freedoms and we can do a lot more by standing up to the freedom-killing policies and working toward changing the government in 2016, than picking up our ball and going home.
“Hey let’s secede and start a new country, my mom can make the costumes, and we can use the barn for our meetings!”
Until they invent something better, I will be here to fight for One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All!
