I hate Sen. John McCain’s politics, in fact I’ve told friends that If I could I would work against his reelection for office. There is only on think impossible to argue about the Arizona senator, his service record and the fact that John McCain is an American War hero.
McCain, a former Navy pilot, spent roughly five-and-half years in a notorious North Vietnamese prison known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was repeatedly tortured. He spent two of those years in solitary confinement. He refused to allow the North Vietnamese to release him early because there were others who were held longer then him. There is no other way to put it
McCain is a hero.
The only one who does not think McCain’s a hero is Donald Trump. Appearing at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa Saturday, the real estate mogul /reality host dropped his rhetoric to a new low.
I don’t like losers,” Trump said about McCain. Moderator Frank Luntz described McCain — a former naval pilot taken prisoner for almost six years during the Vietnam War — as a “war hero.” The real estate mogul then took a swing at McCain, whom he said he had supported in 2008. “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said mockingly. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
The remarks, which came after days of back-and-forth between McCain and Trump, and according to reports were met with scattered boos.
There thing about McCain which are easy to criticize. In some ways he blew the 2008 election for being too nice. He criticizes Republicans almost as much as he criticizes Democrats, and most horrific he unleashed his nasty daughter on the world. But there is one thing the Arizona should never be questioned about—that is his service as an American hero.
Senator McCain is an American hero because he served his country and sacrificed more than most anybody including Trump could ever imagine. Period!
With his statement today, once again “The Donald” has proven that he does not have enough understanding of the sacrifice of our military to be Commander-in-Chief, and that he is too much of an A-hole to be president.
