Rasmussen polling, one of the more accurate pollsters from the 2024 presidential election, had revealed that most Americans favor putting an end to birthright citizenship to end anchor babies and make it a bit harder for illegals to become U.S. citizens.
First of all, President-elect Donald Trump is a big proponent of redefining the 14th Amendment where many leftists claim “birthright citizenship” is enshrined.
The amendment clause reads as follows:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
This clause was added to the U.S. Constitution on June 13, 1866, mostly to make sure that former slaves could not be denied citizenship in the wake of the end of the Civil War.
However, at the time, foreigners who had their children inside the U.S. and even American Indians were not considered to be covered under this amendment. That is because at the time, Indians were on reservations and some even had separate legal status under their own “nations” and foreigners were considered to be, well, FOREIGNERS who were subject to the jurisdiction of their own nations, whether they were having babies inside our borders or not.
It wasn’t until many decades later that simply being born on U.S. soil conferred automatic citizenship in the minds of many in the legal profession.
Today, as we all know, this misread amendment has been thoroughly abused by millions of pregnant foreigners who flock to the U.S. to have their babies so that they can be given automatic citizenship in order to confer all sorts of freebies and social benefits on the parents.
This is what Americans want ended.

The Napolitan News survey included 1,000 registered voters and was conducted Jan 31 to Feb 1, 2024 shows that most voters disapprove of birthright citizenship.
“Call for end to #BirthrightCitizenship is popular with voters. If a pregnant woman enters the United States illegally and gives birth in the United States, just 41% think her child automatically be considered an American citizen,” wrote pollster Scott Rasmussen on X.
“Additionally, if a woman enters the United States illegally and becomes pregnant within a year or so…. and the father of the child is also an illegal immigrant, just 38% think that child automatically be considered an American citizen,” he also wrote.
Yes, it really is time to tighten this rule and get it more closely defined.
This anchor baby trend needs to be obliterated.
