One of the most compelling parts of Aaron Klein’s Shmoozing with the Terrorists, is when he interviews a leader of the Aqsa Martrys Brigades about their releationship with their parent group Fatah :
Abu Ahmed, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades leader in the northern Gaza Strip, told WND his group, including the militants launching rockets, is loyal to Abbas and coordinates “resistance operations” with the Fatah party. “The Al Aqsa Brigades is the military wing of the Fatah and the President Abu Mazen (Abbas) is the chairman of the movement. We are committed to our leadership, to Abu Mazen. All our activity is in accordance with the political line of Fatah, which consists of fighting the occupation until the creation of a Palestinian state. The rocket shooting is part of this vision,” Abu Ahmed said. All rockets fired from Gaza have been launched from the northern part of the territory, which falls within Abu Ahmed’s jurisdiction in the Brigades.
Thats kind of it in a nutshell the “Al Aqsa Brigades is the military wing of the Fatah and the President Abu Mazen (Abbas) is the chairman of the movement”. Yet Fatah is considered a “moderate” peace partner. Not only by the EU and the US but by the spineless comb over himself Ehud Olmert.
Today in the Jerusalem Post there is an article about what our “Peace Partners” want to do next:
Fatah gunmen threaten to fire hundreds of rockets at Israel

The Aqsa Martyrs Brigades threatened Thursday morning to fire hundreds of rockets at Israel. Sderot and western Negev residents on their way to work were greeted by nine Kassams landing in and around the city. Four landed in populated areas. One landed in the garden of a building, one at a junction in the city and one at an educational institution just outside Sderot, Army Radio reported. There were no casualties reported as a result of the barrage. In response, the IAF attacked Kassam rocket cells in northern Gaza from the air. The IDF said they destroyed two Kassams in their launchers which were about to be fired. The group announced that they have commenced “Operation Gaza Autumn,” which would include, among other things, firing rockets at Israel. In a flyer distributed Thursday morning they said they have not tired of the resistance, and will continue with the military operation, Walla reported. “Autumn 2007 is arriving without a national unity government. We hear talk of summits here and there. We are marking 90 years since the evil Balfour Declaration, continuing IDF operations into Gaza, killing of Palestinians and destruction of houses.” Forty Kassams have been fired at Israel since the beginning of the week. Meanwhile, the IDF killed four terrorists early Thursday morning in several encounters along the Gaza security fence, Army Radio reported. Guns and ammunition were discovered on their bodies. It remains to be seen whether Israel will cut the electricity to parts of Gaza in response to the barrage. Defense Minister Ehud Barak recently approved the measure in response to Kassam attacks, but Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz has held up the process until humanitarian measures to ensure the continuance of necessary systems are worked out.
