NY Nursing Home Admins Warned Against Cuomo's Deadly COVID Order, Were Shot Down

In the days before New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was saddled with a glut of sexual harassment and abuse allegations from a half-dozen women, the Empire State Democrat was already dealing with a hellacious scandal that threatened his political career.

The issue was that Cuomo had decided to send COVID-19 patients into the state’s nursing home system in an attempt to free up beds and resources at hospitals. This backfired tragically, as the virus then spread viciously through these senior care facilities, killing an untold number of the elderly population housed within.

Worse still – Cuomo had attempted to bully those around him into keeping quiet on the whole thing.

Now, one of the state’s leading nursing home administrators is revealing that Cuomo’s idea to send Senior COVID patients to nursing homes was panned from the start, but state officials wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.

A Staten Island nursing home administrator told Fox News in an exclusive interview that he and executives at other facilities were “petrified” by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s infamous March 2020 order that COVID-positive patients be placed in long-term care facilities rather than hospitals.

However, Michael Kraus told Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie that his concerns were “shot down” by state officials.

“Many facilities vocalized it,” said Kraus. “They were petrified, but they were more petrified of the Department of Health … once it [my concern] was shot down, I never spoke [about it] again.”
