This week’s Lid Radio Show guest is John Hawkins; conservative blogging superstar, columnist, political activist, and author of the new book, “101 Things All Young Adults Should Know,

John’s book “101 Things All Young Adults Should Know,”  is filled with lessons to help “newly minted adults” get the most out of life. Hawkins’s book isn’t a lecture, it’s a book explaining how to get ahead in life by avoiding the pitfalls that John (and many of us) weren’t able to avoid. He provides anecdotes gleaned from his own life and from the lives of people he knows to counsel a young audience without patronizing them. And if you think you may be too old for the book, forget it. At one point reading the book my son waked into the room and said, “Dad you look like one of those bobble head dolls, you keep nodding your head up and down.”

Indeed I found the book and its homespun and sometimes humorous advice, like never get yourself in between a couple in the middle of a breaking, up both entertaining and relatable

John Hawkins is someone I am proud to call a friend. He was one of the earliest conservative bloggers, and his site Right Wing News (RWN) is always near the top of every list of conservative websites. Along with the conservative commentary, John’s is famous for grabbing the big interview, and my personal favorite he is known for the list post.

Hawkins is a one of the most decent people in the blogging world. John has used RWN to give a bigger stage to lesser known writers, and is usually the first one to include the person who hasn’t been invited to an event, or to rally the community behind people in need. Interestingly while reading “101 Things All Young Adults Should Know,” I learned some of the rationale behind his inclusiveness and his altruism.

Along with  Right Wing News, John Hawkins is the man behind Linkiest, and is the co-owner of The Looking Spoon. He also does weekly appearances on the #1 in it’s market Jaz McKay show, writes a weekly column for Townhall and his work has also been published at the Washington Examiner, The Hill, Hot Air, Pajamas Media, Human Events, and even her at The Lid.
