This week’s Lid Radio Show guest is my friend Ian Walters, the Communications Director for the American Conservative Union.
Arguably the most famous of the ACU programs is CPAC, Folks who read Lidblog and/or listen to this program know that a key “must-go” annual event I look forward to every year is CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. Among his other responsibilities at the ACU, Ian Walters puts together and runs the incredible 
CPAC program which can have anywhere from 2-4 different sessions going on at the same time (to be honest despite our friendship I am extremely jealous of his management and organization skills in putting this together).
Along with the great programs and the opportunity to meet with conservative politicians, pundits, radio & TV hosts and fellow bloggers, etc., the best thing coming out of my annual trip to Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center for CPAC, was meeting and becoming friends with Ian Walters, the ACU Communications director. More than his intelligence and ability to articulate and discuss the latest news on any topic, Ian is just a nice guy who genuinely cares about people.
Ian and the ACU does much more than CPAC, it’s the leading entity in providing conservative positions on issues to Congress, the Executive Branch, State Legislatures, the media, political candidates, and most importantly the public. As communications director, Ian is responsible for helping to package those positions and coming up with the perfect events, literature, media programs, etc, to get the word out.
