In that fateful election 4 years ago, the Democratic Party was hellbent on disseminating a conspiracy theory purporting that Donald Trump was soliciting and receiving help from The Kremlin in order to win. This would, in their hypothesis, make Trump then beholden to Vlad Putin, this making him some sort of double agent.
It was all very Hollywood and not terribly believable. Trump was soon vindicated by special counsel Robert Mueller’s decision not to pursue legal action against him, after an exhaustive investigation.
Despite this, it appears as though the left is looking to hang their hat on this nonsense again.
Democratic vice-presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said on Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union” that Russian election meddling could cause Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to lose the 2020 election.
Host Dana Bash said, “I want to ask about Russia. The Department of Homeland Security bulletin said that Russia is trying to amplify claims that mail-in voting will lead to widespread voting fraud and undermine the public’s trust in the upcoming election. Are you worried that Russian interference could cost you the election?”
Harris said, “I am clear that Russia interfered in the election of the president of the United States in 2016. I serve on the Senate Intelligence Committee. We have published detailed reports about exactly what we believe happened. And I do believe that there will be foreign interference in the 2020 election and that Russia will be at the front of the line.
Asked whether she thought Russian interference could cost her and Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, the White House, Harris said, “Theoretically, of course. Yes.”
Theoretically, there is a tooth fairy. And she must think there is a stupid fairy too. That fairy sprinkles stupid dust on all Americans, making us believe her political lies.
She went on to assail Trump’s efforts to sow doubt and confusion around absentee voting, saying, “We have a president who is trying to convince the American people not to believe in the integrity of our election system and compromise their belief that their vote will actually count.
No, Kamala —Trump is trying to protect the integrity of our election system by making sure there’s no mass mailing of ballots. Absentee voting is okay because it starts with one voter requesting the ballot. But sending ballots to every address in the state system. Whether they are alive or not, whether they moved elsewhere. Etc. It will create voter fraud.
Here we go again, folks. The Dems are ramping up their hoaxes.
