Joe Biden and his toxic flacks in the media keep claiming that the president has created a great economy. And yet, homelessness is now at its highest rate ever and soared by18.1 percent just this year alone.
This isn’t the determination of some right-wing think tank, either. It is news from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development itself. So, you can bet that means the numbers are too low and the real homeless rate is much higher.
Per CBS News:
More than 770,000 people were counted as homeless in federally required tallies taken across the country during a single night in January 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said in its new report. The estimate likely undercounts the number of unhoused people given that it doesn’t include people staying with friends or family because they don’t have a place of their own.
That jump comes on top of a 12% increase in 2023, which HUD blamed on soaring rents and the end of pandemic assistance. The 2023 increase also was driven by people experiencing homelessness for the first time.
I want to reiterate that second paragraph… this year’s 18 percent jump is ON TOP OF last year’s 12 percent rise! That means over two years, Biden has sent homelessness to a 30 rise in just two years.
Housing costs are a big reason for this. Most people can’t afford to have a place to live when rent/mortgage is three quarters of what they make a month.
So, what are Democrats doing to alleviate this horrid state of housing?
Only making it worse, is all.
