As reported in these pages yesterday, after March 10th Texas Governor Abbot’s EO removing mask mandates and declaring “there are no COVID-19-related operating limits for any business or other establishment became effective, the state has seen a decline in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths from the Coronavirus. At that time, the MSM’s media darling, Dr. Fauci, whose comments are treated as if they came down from Mount Sinai written on two tablets, predicted a disaster for the Lone Star State.  On Tuesday, Fauci was on MSNBC’s Morning, Joe. He refused to acknowledge “the science,” claiming the results from the first four weeks since Texas relaxed COVID restrictions were confusing. Fauci Texas results confusing

“It can be confusing because you may see a lag and delay because often you have to wait a few weeks before you see the effect of what you’re doing right now, There are a lot of things that go into that. When you say they’ve had a lot of activity on the outside, like ball games, I’m not really quite sure. It could be they’re doing things outdoors.”

Sorry Dr. Fauci, but to this observer, it doesn’t seem confusing. It seems as if you are wrong again.

The chart published by the NY Times details the trend of COVID cases in Texas. The data used is from April 5th,  approximately four weeks since Texas Governor Abbot issued the executive order relaxing restrictions. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.  The ONLY graph in the chart below trending upward is on the bottom left—the number of COVID tests given. Texas is testing more, and cases are down.

Fauci claims that there is COVID fatigue, and he is right.  I don’t know anyone who isn’t sick and tired of being locked down during the past year.  However, what the MSM and Dr. Fauci don’t understand that there are many Americans who have Fauci fatigue.  And unlike the COVID cases in Texas, that number is growing.

The media’s favorite doctor seemed to have been wrong or changed his mind about every major recommendation he’s made. Remember it was Fauci who recommended we close down the country for 15 days to stop the spread–13 months ago. Fauci urged us not to wear masks, then begged us to wear masks (then two masks). He said it would be years before a vaccine for COVID was developed, then took credit for President Trump’s warp speed which delivered three vaccines in less than a year.  Fauci slammed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis last April when he announced he wanted to get schools open as soon as possible. Still, in December, he changed his answer, saying the default position should be to keep the children in school or to get them back to school.” He even called Trump’s response to the pandemic impressive before he beat up Trump’s response.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick was correct last July when he said of Fauci, “He has been wrong every time on every issue. I don’t need his advice anymore.” Well, Lt. Governor— no one does, except for the MSM.
