Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is trying to worm his way into President-elect Donald Trump’s good graces by donating a cool one million Zuckerbucks to the president’s inaugural fund.

Like many on the extreme tech left, Zuck probably sees the writing on the wall and is attempting to buy his way in, hoping to avoid the comeuppance he deserves.

Facebook truly is the worst run, programed, maintained, and administered social media outlet of all of them, sad to say. Even though it is probably the biggest social media company of them all, it has daily break downs, dozens of constantly broken features, makes millions of utterly illogical algorithm-based decisions, has zero customer service, and wildly one-sided censorship only of any user that comes anywhere near expressing a conservative opinion.

… other than that, Mrs. Lincoln…

To show how scared he is, note that he did not donate a penny to Trump’s 2016 inaugural nor did he give up anything to Biden’s in 2020. He even made a personal visit to Mar-a-Lago to meet the president-elect, again in hopes of steering him away from any well-deserved action against his company, Meta.

Zuck saw the handwriting on the wall far earlier than many others. Early in the 2024 presidential campaign he famously announced that he was bowing out of politics and decided not to push an agenda on Facebook nor donate and support any candidates.

His social media platform still went on its merry way banning every conservative it could, granted, but Zuck did not allow it to put its digital thumb on the electoral scale nearly as much as he ordered it to do in 2020 and previous elections.

It is highly doubtful that Zuck has changed his personal outlook at all, granted. But if he steers his company away from its blatant support and in-kind contributions to the Democrats, that will be our best outcome, really.
