Mother Jones magazine published an article claiming that dogs are bad for the environment. Based on that claim, we should stop taking man’s best friend as a pet. That’s crazy, dogs. Whatever the researchers say, I bet they contribute more to climate change with methane through their gas portholes than any dog.

Dogs have “extensive and multifarious” environmental impacts, disturbing wildlife, polluting waterways and contribute carbon emissions, new research has found.

An Australian review of existing studies has argued that “the environmental impact of owned dogs is far greater, more insidious, and more concerning than is generally recognised”.

Apparently, we give dogs a pass because they get excited when we walk in the door, play a fun game of throwing the ball, race alongside us when we go out for our morning run, and much more.

Some people were angry when they heard about the study, but not me. Keeping calm, I went outside for a nice walk with my 4-legged friend.
