Since July 8th when the Gaza war began over 2,600 rockets have been sent toward Israel from Gaza. Thankfully most of the rockets heading toward populated areas have been shot down by Israel’s Iron Dome system. In fact even the liberal media has been praising Iron Dome for saving hundreds if not thousands of Israeli lives.

Trying to unseat Mitch McConnell as a U.S. Senator from Kentucky, Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes doesn’t seem to follow the news very much.

As foreign policy inches its way into a debate that has largely focused on the economy, Grimes was asked about congressional efforts to aid Israel’s missile defense system, known as the Iron Dome.

“Obviously, Israel is one of our strongest allies in the Middle East, and she has the right to defend herself,” Grimes said. “But the loss of life, especially the innocent civilians in Gaza, is a tragedy. The Iron Dome has been a big reason why Israel has been able to withstand the terrorists that have tried to tunnel their way in.

If Ms Lundergan Grimes read a newspaper or watched a news broadcast, she may have seen a picture such as the one above which shows that the Iron Dome system points up.  That is because it destroys terrorist rockets.  If it destroyed terrorist tunnels it would point down.
