Only days after MMA fighter Connor McGregor announced that he is planning to mount a campaign for president of Ireland with immigration as his key issue, government authorities are mulling charges against him for “inciting hatred.”
Last Thursday, McGregor took to his X account and wrote that he was launching his campaign and that he stands against the European Union immigration pact that Ireland is set to vote on.
“Who else will stand up to Government and oppose this bill?” he wrote in his post. “Any other Presidential candidate they attempt to put forward will be of no resistance to them.”
“I will!” McGregor exclaimed.
Ireland must fully implement the EU Migration Pact by June 12, 2026.
So between now and 12 June 2026, several pieces of legislation have to be passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas & then signed by the President.
The next presidential election must take place by 11 Nov 2025…

Now, according to The Independent, government officials opposed to his campaign for the country’s top office are seeking to destroy his candidacy before it even begins by charging him with “hate” against migrants.
The paper says that specialist officers attached to the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) have gathered evidence gleaned from his numerous social media posts blasting Ireland for allowing migrants to run roughshod over the nation, and have sent that evidence forward for possible prosecution.
McGregor has certainly been outspoken against the government’s lenient immigration policies, as well as against the criminality of migrant riots, murders, rapes, and other depredations.
Europe, which certainly includes the UK, does not have free speech in the same way America has it. And Britain is currently awash in a wave of government imposed censorship that sends people to jail for voicing opinions counter to the extreme, left-wing political narrative favored by elite government officials.
If this investigation is underway, it would not be the first time McGregor has been under a microscope for. “hate” posts on social media. He was also investigated in 2023 for similar posts.
The Irish government also spoke out directly a week ago to condemn McGregor for his social media posts against the country’s immigration policies
Neo-liberal Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin wrote in an X post of his own that “Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St Patrick’s Day, or the views of the people of Ireland.”
