Is it that the man has no feelings, or is he simply a moron? We have covered it here before Rep.James Clyburn continually uses the Holocaust as a political weapon. He added to his record of insensitivity twice this weekend. Each time he said President Trump is like Hitler. On PBS he told Judy Woodruff, “”He thinks that the American people will be duped by him, like the people of Germany was duped by Adolf Hitler” And on CNN’s State of The Union,  he said, “I feel very strongly that Trump is Mussolini, Putin, and Hitler,”  Rep. Clyburn’s Hitler references.

Folks, while I am a Republican, and I support President Trump, but my anger at Clyburn has nothing to do with my politics, and everything to do with the fact that I am a Jew and I have family who suffered through the Holocaust. Clyburn’s constant hyperbolic references to Hitler and the Holocaust cheapen the memory of the actual horrors that millions of people suffered through.

It used to be a basic rule of American politics, never use the Holocaust or any of its related terms such as Nazis or Hitler, for political warfare. The Holocaust is a singular event in world history and not just because of its scale and inhuman horror. Yes, there have been, and sadly will be other genocides of other groups, and there have even been other atrocities against the Jewish people.  But generally, a genocide is waged to suppress a group, keep them out of a countries politics, or to take their land or some other economic reason.  The Holocaust was different– the Jews targeted by Hitler, and the Nazis had no desire to take over the country’s land and held relatively little power–they were just hated. The Nazis took Jews from all over Europe and killed them.

Clyburn should be asked specific questions about the Holocaust to help him understand what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jews.

I had relatives with this on their arms did Trump tattoo numbers on people’s arms?

Hitler chose that method of identifying the Jews because tattooing is prohibited in the Jewish faith (he didn’t realize that people couldn’t be punished for forced tattooing). Either way, if Trump doesn’t force people to tattoo numbers on their arms, then he isn’t Hitler.

I never met some of my family because the Nazis killed them and buried them in mass graves or cremated their bodies (cremation is also against Jewish Law).  When you compared Trump to Hitler, are you saying he does something like that?  If he had, I am sure the mainstream media would have covered it as it would be one less thing they would have to invent.

The Nazis conducted horrible and painful medical experimentation on humans. Perhaps the most well-known of which was the experiments that Josef Mengele conducted on twins and other victims at Auschwitz, through these experiments, he hoped to prove the superiority of the Aryan race. He experimented on over 1,500 pairs of twins and other Jews and Gypsies, injecting dye into their eyes blinding them, or chloroform into their hearts killing them, sew twins together trying to create conjoined twins, forcing them into freezing water (like the picture below), and other experiments too horrible to repeat.

Did Donald Trump authorize horrible medical experimentation on people like Mengele did? If he was doing that, believe me, it would be on the front page of the Washington Post. Therefore, unless the Post is covering up the experimentation, Trump is not like Hitler.

After the Nazis gassed their victims, they collected their hair, their clothes, glasses, gold teeth, and even artificial limbs to be used by the Reich. Perhaps I was watching “Family Feud” instead of the news the day Donald Trump killed people and recycled what was usable. If I didn’t miss it, well, then Donald Trump is not like Hitler.

Somewhere in your ignorance, do you really President Trump has artificial legs recycled after victims are stripped naked, gassed, and cremated. Like Hitler did?

What is it with you, Rep.Clyburn? Why do you insist on cheapening the memory of the of 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust, along with those who survived the Holocaust horrors and the Jews who mourn their pain today and every day?

Perhaps it’s your friendship with the Jew-hating Louis Farrakhan, in 2011 you wrote in the magazine of The Nation of Islam, called The Final Call, “I want to thank Min. Farrakhan for offering up several precepts that we ought to adhere to.”

Rep Clyburn based on your constant debasing of the Holocaust, we know which of Farrakhan’s precepts you are referring to

If President Trump had made the same inappropriate reference as Clyburn spews regularly, the media would be all over him with criticism. But they are silent when Clyburn does it. Just another example of media bias.

Please Note: Other things that shouldn’t be used for comparison are horrors such as slavery in America and Apartheid in South Africa. In their own unique way, they are also incomparable to anything else.
