The National Bloggers Club announced today that Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) will attend and be a featured speaker at this year’s “Blog Bash.”

Social media played a prevalent role in Gov. Perry’s bid for the Presidency during the 2012 primary season. His campaign directed supporters through Twitter and Facebook, and deployed a combination of interactive video, Pandora internet radio, and targeted online advertising in order to reach and motivate voters.

Under Gov. Perry’s leadership, the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF) was created to provide Texas with an unparalleled advantage in the research, development, and commercialization of emerging technologies, bringing the best scientists and researchers to the state, while attracting high-tech jobs and helping start-up companies get off the ground faster.

Governor Perry said, “Grassroots events like this one are where real democracy can be found in our nation. For our nation to flourish, we need to spread the word about the conservative principles that have made America great, and your community is essential to that vital task. I look forward to seeing you all in Washington.”

Now in its fifth year, Blog Bash is the largest gathering of right-of-center bloggers at CPAC, and serves as a networking event for bloggers from around the country to meet with political figures, organizations and campaigns.

Blog Bash is a project of the National Bloggers Club of which I am a member. NBC works to educate, provide access, and equip citizen-journalists to uphold the principles of the First Amendment and advocate for economic and individual freedom, and is entirely planned and produced by professional volunteers contributing their time and resources.
