Somewhere between 115K and 130K years ago the Earth went through a warming spell so severe that 65% of the Antarctic Ice melted. Which means among other things, that unless the Flintstones lied to us and they used a carbon-based fuel instead of foot power, global warming can happen without any help from mankind.
Winter sea ice around Antarctica shrank 65 per cent in a natural warm period between Ice Ages about 128,000 years ago, when temperatures were slightly warmer than now, according to the new report in the journal Nature Communications.
The way the scientists drew their conclusion was an analysis ancient ice cores drilled from deep in the Antarctic ice sheet. Based on the chemistry of those cores the scientists were able to figure out how far the snow got blown from the ocean before it landed and got compressed into ice. From that data they concluded that “reduction in winter sea ice area of 65±7% fully explains the ice core evidence from 128K years ago.”
Of course the scientists behind the study looked at their findings and said that man-made warming will make the natural warming even worse.
Lead author Max Holloway of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) told Reuters that the ancient shrinking of sea ice may have preceded a collapse of an ice sheet in West Antarctica that spilled into the sea and pushed up sea levels.
“With a major reduction in sea ice, you’d expect the ice sheets to be more sensitive,” he said. Separately, in 2014 another study suggested that some glaciers in West Antarctica have already begun an irreversible thaw.

I believe the scientific term for this is “Oopsie.”
Perhaps the showing in Antarctica is connected to the fact that the Earth hasn’t warmed since February of 2008.
Here’s the truth behind the study, 128,000 years ago the Earth warmed due to a natural climate cycle which caused about 65% of the Antarctic ice to melt. That is a fact, anything else said by the scientists who conducted the study is supposition.
Here are some more facts. The Antarctic and indeed the entire Earth hasn’t warmed in 18 years, an indication that the natural warming cycle that occurred earlier in the 20th century reversed itself. Understand the fact that any other predictions of doom by global warming scientists are not based on fact, but based on flawed computer models.
In the end who are you going to believe, climate scientists who rely on flawed computer models instead of facts, or Fred Flintstone? Right now Fred is looking more accurate.
