A December 3rd conference call saw DNC Chair (and secular Jew) Debbie Wasserman Schultz disgrace herself by inappropriately invoking the memory of the Holocaust and doing it only for cheap political purposes.

Schultz held a call with the press to discuss how (in her opinion) the Republican presidential candidates are out-of-touch with the priorities of the Jewish community. An ironic conversation as  throughout her tenure as DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has made it clear that she doesn’t care about the needs or priorities of the American Jewish community, because her number one priority is to be a loyal Democratic party right or wrong, political hack.

After after accusing the GOP of pandering because the Democrats shoved Israel under the bus and the Republicans have supported the Jewish state, Ms. Schultz spoke about the Syrian refugees:

“This quickly translated into the most shameful part of the GOP’s response to the Paris attacks: the scapegoating and turning away refugees fleeing this same terror in their own countries.

““We have seen this movie before. In May 1939, the SS St. Louis left Hamburg, Germany carrying more than 900 passengers, nearly all of them Jewish and seeking refuge in the United States. Our country turned them away, and many who were sent back to mainland Europe were killed in the Holocaust. Instead of learning from that mistake – Republican candidates and politicians were eager to repeat it.”

What the Chairman of the DNC forgot to mention was when the Jews were trying to escape the Nazis, Hitler did not embed SS soldiers in with the refugees–it was not even a concern. On the other hand, there is a big fear that ISIS is embedding terrorists in with the Syrian refugees as they already have done with the Paris attacks.

What she also forgot is that the person who turned away all those Jews was Democratic Party president FDR.

FDR refused to accept Jews fleeing Hitler into the U.S. and his reason was the country already had too many Jews. In his book, “FDR and the Holocaust: A Breach of Faith.” historian Rafael Medoff says Franklin Delano Roosevelt failed to take relatively simple measures that would have saved significant numbers of Jews during the Holocaust, because his vision for America only encompassed having a small number of Jews.

GBA Strategist Principal Jim Gerstein added:

“The Jewish people are an important Democratic constituency that has averaged 70 percent for the Democratic candidate in every presidential election since exit polling began in 1972. The 2012 election illustrated the support that Jewish voters have for the Democratic Party. Despite an unprecedented attack on President Obama by Jewish Republican organizations and donors before the election, President Obama still won 70 percent of the vote nationally, including 68 percent in Florida and 69 percent in Ohio.

Gerstein left out the part about how many Jews voted for Obama despite the fact that he is widely regarded as the president who’s anti-Israel policies were the worst since the creation of the Jewish State in 1948, or that he negotiated a treaty which guarantees that Iran will be able to build a nuclear bomb when Obama’s out of office, or that Obama tried to scapegoat the Jews when he was selling the deal. Heck it’s still happening, just this week Obama appointed Robert Malley, anti-Israel Hamas supporter as his new ISIL Czar. Perhaps I should buy Mr. Gerstein a copy of Michael Oren’s book Ally where the former Israeli Ambassador To U.S explained how Obama purposely screwed up the U.S. relationship with Israel (he had Hillary’s Help).

Mr. Gerstein added that there was never a time when the Republicans have put a dent in the Jewish vote. I have only two words for that, Jimmy Carter.  When Carter who was almost as bad as Obama toward Jews lost his re-election campaign he received only 45% of the Jewish vote in the three-way race. Republican Ronald Reagan got 39% that year. While the GOP never won the Jewish vote they were around that level until Bush #41 ran for re-election. You may remember it was H.W. Bush’s Secretary of State James Baker who famously said, “F**K the Jews, they won’t vote for us anyway.” And thanks to statements like that and his anti-Israel policies in losing his re-election race the elder Bush earned 11% of the Jewish vote. In every election since the GOP has made inroads to the Jewish community and that percentage grew (Romney received 30%).

After the Iran deal, seven years of the anti-Israel Obama and the prospect of a Hillary Clinton who has made a career of being anti-Israel, American Jews are realizing today that the Democrats Party’s stance is the mirror image of James Baker’s famous statement–“F**k the Jews they will vote for us whatever we do!”

The Democrats believe that American Jews are idiots, they think we won’t remember the awful anti-Israel Obama years, or that the Democratic Party removed four pro-Israel planks from its platform (Jerusalem Israel’s capital, no return to pre-67 borders, Palestinians refugees settled in Palestinian state not Israel and no negotiations with Hamas until it renounces terrorism) and only when they got caught, they put back one of the four (Jerusalem)?  Do they really believe that American Jews will be stupid enough to forget that crap sandwich known as the P5+1 Iranian deal, approved by almost every Democrat in the House and Senate? The Iran deal which put both Israel and the United States in mortal danger, is seared in our memories. And so is the anti-Semitic rhetoric and boycott by Democrats when John Boehner invited Bibi Netanyahu to speak to congress.

And now just one more straw in the camel’s back is Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s invoking the memory of the Holocaust inappropriately and only for political purposes, after spending the last seven years lying about Obama and Israel.  But Shultz doesn’t understand her own people. We aren’t a people who forgets, we remember each and every offense, the Jews are a people who forgive, but only to a point.

The Democrats are past the point of redemption not just on Jewish issues, but on economic, safety and issues of freedom relevant to the entire U.S. population.

And as often as people such as the Ms Schultz the DNC chair tries to cover things up–people such as this blogger and many, many others will remind my fellow Jews, indeed all my fellow Americans just what the Democratic Party has done to the greatest country in the world.
