Folks this one is going to make me find a “safe space” away from the PC Police running University of Southern California, well at least running one American Studies class; Professor Alicia Chávez’s “America, the Frontier and the New West.” Jennifer Kabbany of the College Fix reports that Jolie Chea, a teacher’s assistant for Professor Alicia Chávez sent an email for the professor (who either can’t use email or didn’t have the guts to send out this idiotic notice herself) warning the student’s not to use the term illegal immigrant on the final exam.

The email said:

“Hi everyone, one last message from me this semester. On your final exams, please refrain from using the term ‘illegal immigrant’ to refer to human beings — as Professor Chavez has requested (or mandated). Instead, please use ‘undocumented immigrant’ or ‘unauthorized entry’ to describe folks’ status or how they may have arrived in the U.S.”

The Fix received a copy of the email from a student by a student in the class who asked to remain anonymous out of fear that Professor Chavez would lower her grade feeling that transparency isn’t politically correct, or that Chavez feels it’s okay for her to bully students with her PC nonsense but God-forbid the public finds out about it.

…the student said they felt the admonishment against using the wording was a violation of their First Amendment rights and, what’s more, forbids them from using a legal term also employed by the courts. But the student said they will avoid using the term so as to not derail their grade.

The student said they are not surprised by the request to not use the term “illegal immigrant” because “the entire class has been anti-American values, anti-Constitution, anti-Declaration of Independence, anti-Bible, anti-Trump.”

“The entire class is, ‘How can we make things more equal,’” the student said. “They peddle this socialist sort of economic idea when they look at equality in the United States, and they peddle it through race.”

On cannot be surprised at the latest example of American university liberal PC culture.

But if one looks at any dictionary they will discover that the use of illegal, and alien or immigrant for anybody who is not a U.S. citizen surreptitiously crossing the border without permission is correct.

Illegal: forbidden by law; unlawful; illicit
Immigrant: a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.
Alien: An un-naturalized foreign resident of a country. Also called non-citizen.

An illegal alien or immigrant is someone who illicitly comes to live permanently in a foreign country (the U.S.)

Undocumented doesn’t work especially if one uses the term the same way it is used by PC Police. If I steal a car, am I a car thief or an undocumented car owner? If I run a red light and get stopped by a Cop, only to realize I left my driver’s license home, is that a moving violation or am I simply an undocumented driver?

If someone kidnaps a kid are they a kidnapper or an undocumented guardian? If a thief breaks a house, are they undocumented residents or criminals who are trespassing? What about murderers?  Can we put them in jail for being undocumented executioners?

The banning of words like “illegal” and “alien” are just more examples of the progressive-led PC Police forcing their warped sense of Kumbayah down the collective throats American people.

Ten years ago I was bald, but now I am “follicley challenged,” we no longer have janitors or garbage men instead we have waste engineers, some communities have renamed manholes, they are now “personnel access units” to avoid offending women. And don’t even get me started on “holiday” displays which try to integrate Chanukah, a minor Jewish holiday about a war against assimilation, and Kwanzaa a fake holiday designed to divide the races, into the Christian holiday of Christmas.  As a very proud Jew, I don’t get offended when someone wishes me a “Merry Christmas” because it’s the thought that matters. However, I do get offended with the term “happy holidays” because it displays a total lack of thought.

Face it,  American culture has been ruined by the politically correct, nobody’s feelings get hurt, everybody gets a participation trophy police who are little more than thugs who try to brand anybody who disagrees with their false vision of Nirvana as bigots. Remember the times when people would get their Academy Awards after hearing the sentence, “And The Winner Is…..?” Now their victory is a dulled “And the Oscar goes to…”

This assault on our language and culture has a supposed goal of softening words they decide are hurtful, but in doing so they are destroying the true meaning of words and actions. In the extreme it means that a terrorist attack is not carried out by terrorists, but militants. According to Webster’s, militant is defined as” having or showing a desire or willingness to use strong, extreme, and sometimes forceful methods to achieve something.” In other words, Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and Obama and any other U.S. President who put our heroes into danger were militants. Arafat, Bin Laden and friends aren’t militants they are terrorists.

And God forbid you use the term radical Islamic terrorist, because if the PC police had the power, use of Islamic Terrorist or similar terms would have you sent to Gitmo with the radical Islamic terrorists.

The guardians of political correctness have invaded every aspect of our language; under Obama a tax increase became a revenue enhancement. Well I am damn they sure as hell those “enhancements” aren’t increasing my revenue. Softening the term doesn’t make me miss the fact that Uncle Sam’s hand is reaching deeper into my pocket.

Words matter, someone who targets violence civilians to frighten them from leaving their homes is a terrorist, someone who criminally trespasses the border of the United States is an illegal alien, a tax increase is not a revenue enhancement, and additional government spending programs are not investments softening the term does not make the case more valid, it simply makes people wonder what the heck they are trying to cover up.

Even worse is that instead of working on cutting government spending, cutting the deficit, or worrying about terrorists crossing the border, sanctimonious politicians or University Professor like Ms. Chavez are wasting their time with political correctness.

Of course, the real intention of their self-righteous moral indignation over the use of some words is to limit self-expression, and to cut off discussion of vitally important issues. By insisting on terms such “undocumented immigrant” and disallowing terms such as “illegal alien” they put a gag order on the truth and skew the discussion.

But a believer in compromise– I will stop using illegal alien, if the PC Police and college professors like Alicia Chávez’s start using a term which accurately describe people who have broken the law by remaining in this country. From now on, let’s us the term “criminally trespassing foreigner.” It’s not the term thy hate and it’s not the inaccurate term that anybody who speaks the Queens English (that’s the Queens N.Y. English), refuses to use.
