To quote Ronald Reagan, the best President in my lifetime, “Well…there you go again!”

Doing my morning reading, I fell upon a piece by my Liberty Alliance colleague Onan Coca at Eagle Rising that said in part:

The latest example of the insanity comes to us from the liberal gulag that is New York, where a Democrat lawmaker just reprimanded a Republican colleague for using the term “illegal immigrant.”

Yes, according to Democrat Phil Ramos (D-NY), the very word illegal, in and of itself, is RACIST. The news of the word’s suddenly evil origin was broken during a debate Ramos was having about the DREAM Act with Republican Steve McLaughlin (R-NY). After Ramos’ assertion that opposition to the DREAM Act was racist, McLaughlin wondered how that could possibly be, considering the fact that the opposition to illegal immigration was being applied to people of every race, creed, and color.

There is nothing racist about the word illegal, illegal immigrant, or illegal alien. There is also nothing racist about the term stupid, which I will be using from now on every time I mention Stupid Assemblyman Ramos.

About three years ago at the urging of the PC bullies the news media and liberal politicians decided the term illegal alien (or immigrant)  does not accurately describe the people who are breaking the law by their continued presence in the United States and from that time forth they will use the term “undocumented immigrant.” But a look in  the dictionary supports the use of illegal, and alien or immigrant for anybody who is not a U.S. citizen surreptitiously crossing the border without permission.

Illegal: forbidden by law; unlawful; illicit
Immigrant: a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.
Alien: An un-naturalized foreign resident of a country. Also called non-citizen.

Undocumented doesn’t work especially if one uses the term the same way it is used by PC Police. But that didn’t stop the Library of Congress which had proposed no longer using illegal immigrant,  saying that despite being used in law, the term had “become pejorative” and needed to be axed. Instead the library said it would use “noncitizen” to refer to illegal immigrants, and “unauthorized immigration” to refer to the broader issue.

If I steal a car and the cops come to my house asking me to show papers proving its ownership am I a car thief or an undocumented car driver? If I kidnap a child and I’m asked to show the kid’s birth certificate to prove parentage, am I an undocumented parent, or a kidnapper? If a thief breaks into my house, are they undocumented residents or are they criminals who are trespassing?

The banning of words like “illegal” and “alien” are just more examples of the progressive-led PC Police forcing their warped sense of kumbaya down the collective throats American people.

Ten years ago I was bald but now I am follicly challenged, we no longer have janitors or garbagemen instead we have waste engineers . Some communities  have renamed manholes, they are now “personnel access units” to avoid offending women. And don’t even get me started on “holiday” displays which try to integrate Chanukah,  a minor Jewish holiday about a war against assimilation and Kwanzaa a fake holiday designed to divide the races, into the Christian holiday of Christmas.  As a very proud Jew, I don’t get offended when someone wishes me a “Merry Christmas” because it’s the thought that matters. However I do get offended with the term “happy holidays” because it displays a total lack of thought.

Remember the times when people would get their Academy Awards after hearing the sentence, “And The Winner Is…..?” Now their victory is a dulled “And the Oscar goes to…”

Face it, the American culture has been ruined by the politically correct, nobody’s feelings get hurt, everybody gets a participation trophy police who are little more than thugs who try to brand anybody who disagrees with their false vision of Nirvana as bigots.

Their assault on our language and culture has a supposed goal of softening words they decide are hurtful, but in doing so they are destroying the true meaning of words and actions. In the extreme it means that the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv was not carried out by terrorists, but militants. According to Webster’s, militant is defined as” having or showing a desire or willingness to use strong, extreme, and sometimes forceful methods to achieve something.” In other words Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and Obama and any other U.S. President who put our heroes into danger were militants.

And God forbid you use the term radical Islamic terrorist, because if the PC police had the power,  use of Islamic Terrorist or similar terms would have you sent to Gitmo with the radical Islamic terrorists.

The guardians of political correctness have invaded every aspect of our language, today a tax increase is now a revenue enhancement, well damn they sure as heck dont increase my revenue and softening the term doesn’t make me miss the fact that Uncle Sam’s hand is reaching deep  in my pocket

Words matter, someone who targets civilians to frighten them from leaving their homes is a terrorist, someone who criminally trespasses the border of the United States is an illegal alien, a tax increase is not a revenue enhancement, and additional government spending programs are not investments softening the term does not make the case more valid, it simply makes people wonder what they are covering up.

Even worse is that instead of working on cutting government spending, cutting the deficit, or worrying about terrorists crossing the border, sanctimonious politicians like Stupid Assemblyman Ramos are wasting their time with political correctness.

Of course the real intention of their self-righteous moral indignation over the use of some words is to limit self-expression, and to cut off discussion of vitally important issues. By insisting on terms such “undocumented immigrant” and disallowing terms such as “illegal alien” they put a gag order on the truth and skew the discussion.

But I believe in compromise. I will stop using illegal alien, if the PC Police and politicians like Stupid Assemblyman Ramos start using a term which accurately describe people who have broken the law by remaining in this country. From now on, let’s us the term “criminally trespassing foreigner.” It’s not the term thy hate and it’s not the inaccurate term that anybody who speaks the Queens’ NY English, refuse to use.

Update (Good News):

The House voted Friday to order the Library of Congress to keep using the term “illegal alien” to describe those who come to the U.S. without authorization, saying that as long as federal laws written by Congress use those terms, so should their official records-keeper [the bill now goes to the senate for approval].
