One of the many reasons why Mitt Romney lost in 2012 was that he was the only candidate who couldn’t get away with challenging Obamacare.  After all much of the plan was based on the program he put together in Massachusetts. But Obamacare has never been popular with the American people and people’s objection’s to the plan helped the GOP in the 2010 and 2014 mid-term elections.

Unlike Mitt Romney, Donald Trump has no ties to Obamacare so he is free to bash Obama’s failed signature program as much as he wants.

Last night the Obama administration handed Donald Trump a huge gift, as they admitted Obamacare prices were skyrocketing and insurers were dropping out of the program:

Obamacare premiums will soar in 2017, the administration acknowledged Monday, with the price of the most popular benchmark plans jumping an average of 22 percent as the law continues to rely on older, sicker customers than its backers had envisioned.

The number of insurers offering plans on the federally run exchange will also plummet as companies tap out, saying they can’t figure out a way to make the economics work — and raising the risk of lower competition and worse premium increases.

Roughly one in five customers will have only a single insurer as an option next year after major players such as UnitedHealth Group and Aetna withdrew from most states and nearly all of Obamacare’s co-op plans failed.

This is the Obama government saying that prices are going way up as their choices go away. Voters already don’t like Obamacare and now it is crashing, what a great opportunity.

The Democrats’ solution to the failure of Obamacare is the single payer health care system where a “single payer” fund, rather than private insurers, pays for health care costs. Single-payer healthcare is wrong for so many reasons, the biggest of which is that healthcare becomes a commodity and even more than in Obamacare the government controls what medical procedures are possible. The VA is a single payer system and like the systems in Canada and other single-payer programs there are horrible waits to receive treatment (that’s why those who can afford come to the U.S. for treatment. The bottom line about single-payer is the conflict in goals. The government wants to manage costs, the patients want to get healthy.

That’s the opportunity. Donald Trump should be pounding the American public with the failure of Obamacare and what Hillary will replace it with. Forget the polls, forget the biased media, and forget the women who say Trump groped him.  It is not very often that a candidate behind in the polls is handed a gift two weeks before the election. Trump’s gift is the collapse of a program the people don’t like and that he opposes.

Obamacare should be ever other word out of Trump’s mouth, not only is it a failed program, not only was it laden with all the broken promises and cronyism that American’s are tired of…but it is a clear and effective choice.  Come-on Donald—get to it!
