Our 2pm guest will be Dan Bennett,Comedian, Corporate Juggler, and Mathematician. I met Dan two years ago I was on an Alaskan cruise and he was the entertainer–my stomach still hurts from all the laughing I did during his act.
Dan Bennett is a “mathemagician” of the first order, a language and prop manipulatist of professorial proportions with a name you can swear by (Dan Bennett!!*$$!!). He also claims to be an inventor who reinvented wheel with 800 moving parts.
His shows combine skilled manipulation of sports equipment and everyday objects with original wit, energy and lots of enthusiasm.
Dan has a million frequent floater miles from cruise ships, and if you are ever deciding on a cruse and find out Dan is the entertainment…book it ASAP, his shows are worth the cost of the trip.
While earning his bachelor`s degree in mathematics, Dan worked as a teaching assistant in the math lab. His love for teaching soon spilled over into tutoring with comedy. Eventually he was holding workshops in calculus and mixing mathematics with humor. While lecturing about ballistics he devised the object lesson now so central to his performances: catching a bowling ball with his face. There was no turning back once he discovered how fun it was to entertain with math, physics and economics. Intellectual joke telling evolved into scientific bravado which in turn utilized the visual aids of juggling, balancing and prop manipulation.
On that cruise where we met Dan we also learned he not only funny, and a skilled juggler prop manipulatist, but he is also a conservative. The creator of some of the most famous (and infamous) television spots of the last two decades, Rick is one of the GOP’s most prominent voices, and the man ABC News called the mastermind behind one of the most brilliant ads of the 2014 cycle. A frequent commentator on CNN, MSNBC, and other networks, he was recently profiled in the New York Times.
